What's the difference between climbing and bouldering?

Climbing generally describes the act of a person climbing on something, a surface, natural or man-made.

Irrespective of the facility being a boulder facility, a climbing facility, Indoor rock climbing comprises of walls, made from wooden panels or fibre glass and plastic holds being put on them to allow a climber to be able to climb.

Many indoor climbing facilities have a mix of boulder walls and high walls for which a climber must be attached to a rope. At Climb Central Delhi, currently we have high walls and for climbing at our facilities, the climber must be secured with a rope. In future, we have plans to build a boulder wall section. Once bouldering section is built, Climb Central Delhi will be able to offer all forms of climbing such as bouldering, top-rope climbing, auto-belay climbing, speed climbing and lead climbing.

We will introduce the different forms of roped climbing in another blog post for you to learn more about it.
